iPhone 15 gets HOT when charging via mag safe mode.

I just upgraded to iPhone15 & when charging w/ the Apple brand MagSafe charger, by the time it was done charging to 100%, it was so hot (the back circle/magnet..the attached cable & the USB-C block..even the outlet source) I could barely remove it with my bare hand. First time charging - it doesn’t seem like it should be getting this hot. Also, when I did the data transfer same thing minus the MagSafe charger being involved. Can someone please tell me if I need to exchange my phone? I have never had this happen with any of my other iPhones through the years.
