What happened to the apple credit you lost if someone hacks into my device?

I only use my iPad now for ebooks and I was thinking to use to put money into my apple device to get the ebooks using the apple gift card things I can buy in stores, but what if when I use one say £100 and some hacks into my devices can I do something about it and maybe apple would give me it back?
