New to you perhaps, but not "newly" manufactured.
If your iPod is running iOS 9, as suggested by the signature strip in your post, that model (a 5th gen Touch) was discontinued at least eight years ago and was succeeded by two further models.
You can use iTunes for update your iPod but the iOS 9 is not support a lot app.
In example amazon app requires iOS 15 or later.
Only iPod touch 7th gen support iOS 15 and not support iOS 16 or above.
