"Format"--> "Add Link". Options greyed out - Why?
I have highlighted text I would like as a hyperlink. However under Format-->Add LInk the options are greyed out. Anyone have any idea why? I attached an image.

I have no issue selecting a single line of body text and adding a link to it in Pages v14 on macOS Ventura 13.6.6 or Sonoma 14.4.1. Whether I use the Format menu, or keyboard shortcut to add a link, it just works and makes no difference whether I have Grammarly active for Pages or disabled for an hour.
Thanks. That is the way I'd expect it to work.
I am wondering what setting may be blocking mine from showing up. I'm on Pages v14, OSX 13.4, doubt an OSX upgrade will make a difference, it has to be something weird in preferences, but I cannot figure it out.
I appreciate your efforts to help me Viking. I installed 14.4, I have the same auto-correct settings and I get the same result. It is greyed out. But I figured it out, sort of!
The text that was highlighted had some strange formatting - I am not sure what it was but when I deleted and retyped it worked.
I appreciate your help and maybe this thread may help someone else in the coming years with strange formatting in Pages.
Close the document and formally quit ⌘Q Pages. Reboot your Mac. Any changes to add a link upon reopening that same document?
