Delete Mail Spam

For some reason I seem to receive quite a lot of spam in my iCloud email. I know I can set spam rules in my iCloud email settings but the best it seems to do is to send the mail to a spam folder. The result of this is that I still see a little number icon beside the spam folder, which I then have to click on, and manually delete all of the messages. In comparison, when using gmail, I know it’s possible to create a simple filter where any spam is marked as read and deleted (so I never have to see or deal with it).

Is there any way in iCloud mail to have spam marked as read and deleted?

Thanks!
