Bluetooth pairing works fine on iPhone. On MacBook Pro 13" M1 2020 running 14.4.1 or MacBook Pro 2013 running 10.15.7, does not even appear.

In general, Macs lack the Bluetooth detailed features required to pair with Bluetooth speakers, Bluetooth-only earbuds, and Bluetooth hearing aids. Since this is by design, Apple does not consider it a defect.
AirPlay devices use a more complex connection method than simple Bluetooth pairing, and AirPlay-enabled devices can be used, but you use Airplay to set them up.

This article suggest that IF they will work, it will only be when the device is reset so it is ready to "Pair" (see the User manual) AND your Mac has the Bluetooth settings/control panel open:

Maybe that info is in the fine print of those devices, should be if not, I say..
