I bought a second-hand Apple Pencil six months ago, and it's been working well until recently. The tip appears worn and I've dropped it several times. Lately, it's been difficult to use; it often doesn't work right away when I try to draw after lifting it. I'm hesitant to buy new tips if that's not the issue. Thanks.

Sorry, but there's no way, by just looking at pictures, whether or not, you dropping the Apple Pencil could have damaged it. The replacement tips are relatively inexpensive, and would be the first thing to try. If they don't resolve the issue, you will (at least) have spares when you get a new Pencil.
Apple Pencil gen 1 is not working well. Could this be an issue with the tips?
