Bypassing iCloud Locked Apple MacBook Pro "Core i5" 2.3 13" Touch/2018

I have a Apple MacBook Pro "Core i5" 2.3 13" Touch/2018 and I know that based on a very similar older thread from "creed339, asking: Purchasing and iCloud locked Mac, logic board replacement cheaper?" for some MacBooks its a simple board or chip switch. But in responcse "Pedro1475, said: Also the iCloud lock in 2018 and later Macbook Pro and Air's isn't just in a replaceable chip on the board. The board ties back to Apples servers and removing that lock is difficult but not impossible on pre M1 machines."

So, my question is: If I were to buy a replacement board or chip, whatever I need... would I be able to just switch them and boot-up relatively easily? Or is there more components like servers.
