When I play a memory video of an album in Photos, Apple chooses the music. I know how to change the music, but if I play the memory again, it reverts to Apple’s choice, rather than keeping my choice. Is there any way I can keep the music I choose? It’s annoying to have to change the music each time I play a memory video.

That's what you put in your bio when you first setup your account here. It can be edited as you change your systems and hardware. Just edit the account by clicking your your icon at the top of this page and then click on Preferences.

Which system version are you using? The version shown below your question cannot be right. If I remember correctly, there have not yet been Memories in Photos on iOS 9.
On my Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma Photos remembers my choice of background music, when I play the memory again. There the problem is, that it is not possible to select a song that I would like to use. I can only select songs from Apple Music, not the songs I added to my Music library myself.

I can play memory videos in Photos on my iPad with OS17. Not sure why my post had iOS9.
