Logic Pro X producing tinny sounds when trying to record using Scarlett Focusrite

I’ve been using a Scarlett Focusrite interface for quite some time to record in Logic Pro X.

However, lately when I plug a guitar or bass in and try to record in Logic Pro, I barely hear the instrument whatsoever. When I do hear it, it’s very muffled and tinny.

Thinking it was a problem with the interface itself, I bought another. The new one also has the same issue.

Now, I’ve probably accidentally changed a setting somewhere that is making it sound like this, but I can’t for the life of me figure out what is happening.

it should be noted that the indicator lights on the Focusrite seem to show that it’s working correctly.

If you are using Sonoma:

Set your Mac's "Mic Mode" to Standard. You can find the setting either in the top menu bar of the mac (orange microphone icon) while Logic is active or in the control center.
