While saving passwords in Safari, why is User Name blank?

In Safari, when I save login information, the username field frequently appears blank. This necessitates manually entering the username, even though Safari seems to remember the password. In the past, usernames seemed to be filled in automatically.

Safari converts first 2 characters while invisibly typing password This bug occurred on Safari 18, macOS 15. On many/most login forms (but apparently not all, like Gmail), when the password is being typed when it is not visible (showing as •), it seems the first 2 characters get converted to a bullet and a whitespace ("• " without quotes), preventing me from logging in. This can be inferred by choosing to show the password after typing it. For example, in the login form at Casting Networks, I tried to type "abc123" (a fake password for demo purposes), but when I select to show what I had typed, it shows "• c123". So "ab" got converted to the aforementioned characters. The workaround is to type the password when visible, or, if visibility is not an option on the form, type elsewhere and copy/paste. Or use another browser. But this needs to be fixed ASAP. I reported this to Apple and am wondering if anyone knows a better resolution/workaround until there's an official fix.

Safari automatically filling password with random characters Hey I have a Problem. Whenever I am looking to login into any website for example email, etc. etc. The username I can fill without any problem, but when I start to type password, after 2 characters it automatically writes like 10 others, and aster another 2, that I write again the same. I tried the same Thing on opera, and there is no such problem it seems to be only on safari, any recomendations please ?

Safari does not recognize the user name and password it saved by itself !!!!!!!!! The Safari saved the user name and password for the specific site I have been using for quite a while. I have always used the fingerprint method to log on the site. However, since two days ago, I kept getting the 401 error unauthorized user page. When I used Chrome to log on, it let me log on, with the exactly same user name and password. Anyone has an idea what's going on with my Safari? And why is it not working anymore for the same user name and password all at sudden. Thanks

This depends on the structure of the website when saving the password, if the username and password were in two different forms it just save the password, go to the repository of saved passwords in the browser settings and edit the saved details for that website.
