Stereo Output for Logic is greyed out. I can only choose Surround Output

I have tried everything and attached screenshots. When I try creating a track, it will only produce sound if the output is set to surround because stereo out or Output 1-2 just doesn't appear. I've gone into preferences 10s of 100s of times in Audio and Midi; in Audio > I/O Assignments, but every time I try to confirm an output, Output and Stereo is always greyed out.

I have checked my audio outputs and inputs. I can hear sound when inserting audio files externally. And any tracks I create can ONLY be heard if they are set to Surround Output since there is none other available.

I'm on a Brand New iMac 24-inch, OS Sonoma 14.4.1

Restart your computer. Does that help?

Go to Logic Pro > Settings > Audio > ...

Are Input and Output Devices set correctly (without brackets)?

Disable then enable Core Audio again.

Switch Audio devices back and forth.

Press Apply after each change.

If that doesn't help, log in to a new User Account on your Mac. Does it still persist?
