How can I automate changing the value in a cell?

I'd like to create an AppleScript to help me with periodically getting the value in a specific cell of my spreadsheet and then running a simple formula to add to that current value.

So for instance, if the value of the cell is currently 10, I would want the AppleScript to get that value of 10 and add 5 to it, to get 15. In the next session, I'd like to run that AppleScript again to get that value of 15 and then add 5 to it again, to get 20. Etc.

I'm all thumbs when it comes to AppleScript but it seems like this should be relatively straightforward. Can anyone help? Thank you!
