When I turn off stolen device protection how long will it stay off?

I went to update my iphone 12 but could not upgrade to the 15 pro due to a security delay for an hour to confirm if my phone was stolen. No one confirmed with me and it was reinstated the next day I went to go update my phone again.

Only recently been a issue and was not informed until at the store. Apple support couldn't help.

If you turn off Stolen Device Protection it stays off unless you turn it on again. See: About Stolen Device Protection for iPhone - Apple Support
