Why does a no ringer show besides my sons message to me
My sons message to me has a bell with a slash across it why

Open the Messages app and on the main screen slide your son's messages to the left and tap the ringer icon to turn the ringer back on for his messages.

Stop notifications for one conversation
You can stop getting notifications for a conversation while you continue to receive its messages.
- Open the Messages app
on your iPhone. - In the Messages list, do one of the following:
- Swipe left on a conversation, then tap
. - Touch and hold a conversation, then tap Hide Alerts.
- Swipe left on a conversation, then tap
To completely stop getting messages for a conversation, you can leave it or block a specific person or number.
