When your device's 'Do Not Disturb' (DND) mode is activated, incoming texts will still arrive; however, the key distinction is that you won't receive notifications for them.

It's worth noting that what you may be thinking of is 'Message Blocking.' Unlike DND, which simply silences notifications, Message Blocking actively prevents messages from being received or sent.
