Updating my payment informations

Hello !

I would like to know if Apple will automatically switch between different credit cards when the one holding my subscriptions is expired ?

I was not able to delete the expired one precisely because there are subscriptions on it and it was impossible to simply update it since my new CC has different numbers.

So I just added my new credit card as a third payment method and place it above the old one on the menu.

Below this menu, there is the message « If your default payment method cannot be charged for a purchase, including subscriptions, you authorise Apple to attempt to charge your other payment methods in order from top to bottom » but i want to be sure about it in order not to loose my AM playlists for example.

Thank you !

PS : please tell if my question is not clear or if the topic is wrong

Personally clear. Thank you for the great question. You’ve basically answered it yourself. The charge order is top to bottom. There are a few exceptions involving Apple Gift Cards and Apple ID Account. They have a higher priority and will usually be charged before your other payment methods.

Thank you very much for your response !

Just to be clear, the top payment mean that I have is ApplePay and I can’t put something higher. On second, I put my new credit card and on third there is my expired card with its last four digits and « ApplePay » in brackets.

Should I modify something ?

Sorry to be this insistent but the perspective of losing some importants files on Icloud and AM playlists are kinda scary 😅
