suddenly I am getting this message when I try to do anything in Pages - "You need to authenticate before accessing this item"
i've tried advice I have seen online but nothing is helping. Any ideas how I can resolve this?

Have you updated your Mac to macOS 14.4.1 and Pages v14? Are you attempting to access a Pages document on an encrypted drive, including Microsoft's OneDrive? Is the document on a local network share volume?
You need to keep the operating system current as there have been a ton of bug and security fixes since 14.1.1. Visit System Settings > General and then click on the Software Update > section.
Single-click on that Pages document on your Desktop and then press option+cmd+i to open a Finder Information panel. On it will be Where:. Also, both the Locked and Stationery pad boxes should be unchecked.
No I have macSO 14.1.1 an pages v14
I'm just trying to access from my desktop as I normally would, sorry I'm not sure how to find out what drive they are on?
