Audio clips with grey line on top and not aligned like the other clips

Does anyone know why some audio clips have a grey line on top and are not aligned with all the other audio clips? How do I get them back like all the others?

Perhaps you added a transition at the match-frame edits (the vertical dashed lines) at some point. You should be able to right-click on the clip and choose Lift from storyline or Command+Option+Up Arrow, then just delete the empty storyline container.

Nothing to be ashamed of at all! Getting the hang of FCP can take time and practice. If you want to flatten the learning curve, there are a few free tutorials that are recommended around here:

I don't think there was a transition between the clips but I right clicked and I lifted from storyline.

I tried this yesterday before posting but I would get no right click option because I was clicking on the grey line to highlight both clips.....when I should have clicked in each individual clip and then right click for lifting from storyline.

Thank you sooooo much!!! Something so simple.....I feel ashamed!! :)
