MacBook Pro mid 2009 - reinstall via bootable USB - fail

I have created an bootable USB with macOS El Capitan used to make clean install on several Mac Pro Computers, mostly from 2011-2012. Now when I use the same USB on a MacBook 2009 it hangs after 3-4 minutes (loading from USB stops). Same if I use installations DVD.

I have installed a 128GB SSD disk.

Any clue?

On a Early, Mid, late 2009 MBP all can run is < OS X 10.11.6 (15G31) El Capitan >

Some of those early 2009 shipped with OS X 10.5.6 (9G2141) Leopard— typically you can only jump 2 OS at a time, if this is your issue, ie Firmware upgrade.

So you have some issue there. From the Bootable installer you can use the DiskUtility.app and run the First Aid feature.

If errors are found and repaired— run it again until it reports no errors.
