Sharing texts between iPhone and iPad

My phone and iPad suddenly stopped being able to share texts back and forth. If I text from phone, I cannot see it in my iPad.

On your iPhone go to Settings/MessagesText Message Forwarding and turn on the switches for your other Apple devices.

Next, go to Settings/[your name]/iCloud and turn on the switch for Messages.
