FaceTune Charge Scam

I have seen a thread similar to my issue. November 22, 2023. I downloaded Facetune and opted for the free seven day trial. After reviewing the app and realizing it didn’t give me what I needed. I canceled the free trial. I received a confirmation that I started the free trial, but I never received a confirmation saying I canceled the free trial.


I received two emails saying that my free trial was going to expire but I ignored them because I already canceled the free trial. On November 29, 2023 I charge my credit card for 59.99$. I had no idea what it was from because the vendor was LTX and not FaceTune.


I requested the Apple credit card support dispute, discharge and research it because I didn’t know what the charge was actually from. They let me know it was for FaceTune and I let them know that I canceled that trial right away. They said they would investigate it for me and a few months later they indicated that I still owed the 59.99$.


LTX sent me a letter with screenshots saying that I authorized premium for this app. Which I did and then immediately canceled. Apple again opened an investigation on this charge in February my request.


Today I just received another notice saying that they denied my dispute and that I am required to pay the 59.99$ because there is no evidence that I canceled before the trial window. I reached out to AppleCare support. They went into my account on the back end and told me that I canceled it on November 22nd 2023. That’s exactly what I had told them from the beginning. I asked for proof they sent me a screenshot but every time I ask them to send me an email they wouldn’t.


I went through the Apple chat support five times today trying to reach someone every time I had to re-explain the entire situation resend all of my screenshots and answer the same questions. Then at the end, they would tell me that they couldn’t help me and they needed to transfer me. I went through chat so that I could provide all of the screenshot evidence so it could be uploaded into my claim.


The rep that I was speaking to told me that they could not help me because there is no purchase charge and my purchase history. When you look at my purchase history, face tune, shows 0.00$ as the price. Obviously the app is free, but it’s to use the app that you have to pay. And for whatever reason canceling my subscription through Settings on my iPhone, didn’t count.


after the fifth person today, they told me that they could only handle this dispute over the phone. I’m so absolutely frustrated because I have proof that I did what I was supposed to and canceled this trial right away. Yet I’m still being charged and not only that they locked FaceTune so I can’t even use it. And now since this investigation has taken six months I’ve lost six months worth of the app if they decide that they don’t want to honor this refund.


To be honest, I don’t want access to this app. It’s not what I needed and this entire situation is a scam to me. It seems like others have gone through the same issue so I’m not sure how Apple is allowing this app to operate the App Store when they are conducting business this way.


I’m a pretty patient person and I try to be reasonable, but this is absolutely ridiculous and I am completely frustrated at the way that this has been handled from Apple and Facetune.
