eSIM card installation

How do I know if my E Sim card is installed? I have tried both methods of transferring a nearby phone number and scanning the QR code and nothing seems to change in my settings.

iPhone 12, iOS 17

If it was installed and activated correctly the eSim should appear in Settings ➜ Cellular / Mobile.

You should also see it under Settings ➜ General ➜ About ➜ ESIM.

But more importantly, you should see cellular signal bars at the top of the iPhone screen, and should be able to make calls and send messages.

Also, if you pull down from the top right corner of the screen, you should see your carrier / service providers name on the left side.
