Apple Watch Series 9 Battery Draining Fast

Bought a new Apple Watch Series 9 in February, the watch worked great until a couple weeks ago when it suddenly developed a problem with its battery draining fast, like dropping from 100% to 82% in one hour doing nothing but wearing it on my wrist. Sometimes restarting fixes the issue, but the "fix" is always temporary and the battery problem returns within a day or even a few hours. I've tried every troubleshooting step I can think of. Is this a known software issue that Apple plans to patch, or do I pursue getting a refund?

Some users report that a Hard Reset resolved the issue.

Other users report that powering down the watch and then turning it back on resolved the issue.

To power off the watch, press & hold the Side Button. When the sliders appear, tap the power icon in the upper right corner. To turn the watch on press & release the Side button.
