I’m trying to add a gmail account to my mail program on my iPad but keep getting a message that the browser doesn’t have JavaScript enabled. I’m using Chrome, which for all I’ve seen, defaults to having Java enabled. Any ideas?

Also make sure Settings -> Safari -> Advanced -> JavaScript is turned on.
Thanks, Biscool2011. I had been using Chrome, which according to all I read, automatically has JavaScript enabled. I switched to Safari and it worked.

What mail program are you using? Apple's app named "Mail" does not involve using any browser at all.
By the way, JavaScript and Java are different things despite the similar names.
When you tried did you use Mail -> Accounts -> Add Account?
Hmm, so it’s either a problem with google login or integrated website browser(basically safari)

I’m using “Mail”. In settings I selected Mail, then Accounts and Add Account. I then chose Google on the next screen and then entered the email address and password. I then get the following

Yes. I selected google, then added the email address and password. I get the error about Java when it tries to verify the info
