iCloud Mail Displaying Gibberish in Mail Content (Chrome Browser)

I am using Google Chrome browser to access my iCloud mail. Starting about three days ago, the mail contents panel started displaying gibberish. The left panel summary displays the actual message content in clear text. I can forward the mail to another email address, and the contents come through clearly.

Does anyone have any insight as to why this is happening and how to fix it?
