Spotify won’t play song on apple carplay in my car. Both spotify and my phone have the latest updates. It shows the song it is supposed to play but it doesn’t actually play the song. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Try and restart your iPhone to see if the issues persist
If they persist, you might want to go in to the airplay settings of Spotify, turn the music to your iPhone speaker and after that send it to CarPlay again to see if the issues persist
I think I am having the same problem. I can select Spotify, select a playlist or album, and see the list as normal. When I press play, I get a blank screen with a couple of icons and no album art (picture added below). Pressing the play icon does nothing. The podcast app works and has artwork/info, but the Apple News audio files result in the same screen. Other apps are working fine. Same issue in 2 different cars, one is wired only and the other is wireless.
I have restarted the phone, updated the Spotify app, to no avail. Since this is happening in both Spotify and the Apple News app, it seems to be a CarPlay issue...
