iPhone 14, iOS 17

Batteries degrade over time with usage due to chemical aging, that's just how they work.

You can expect about a 1% drop per month with average use on an iPhone. This is an approximation, that is why it may be plus or minus a few percent on a month to month basis.

Apple recommends replacing it when it reaches 80%. To check your battery health, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health.

Buongiorno ericaculchi,

Buona giornata

Giulio

In English

Q: Battery capacity - I purchased the iPhone 14 in September 2023 and now in May 2024 my battery capacity has dropped to 94%.. a very short time given that a week ago I checked again and it was at 95%. Is it a factory defect? Let me start by saying that I charge my phone once a day and I don't even use it that much, I would like some clarification.

A: Battery capacity (when the battery, not the iPhone, was new) is measured in complete charging cycles (1 full cycle = 0 to 100%, 1/2 cycle = 50 to 100%, 1/2 4 cycle = 75 to 100%, and so on). The average capacity of iPhones is 500 complete charging cycles, and, on average, is reduced by 1% every 30-45 days.

That said, there are other reasons why battery life can be affected, such as environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) as well as chemical aging of the battery itself. I recommend that you carefully read this support article:--> iPhone Battery and Performance - Apple Support

Since your iPhone is still covered by warranty, I also recommend that you make an appointment and have the device inspected at an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Center in this list:--> Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple
