Need Help Downloading Text To Speech Voices Hi, Currently I am on macOS Ventura - and I am trying to download text to speech voices. I can go to System Preferences > Accessibility > Spoken contact > manage voices Most voices download easily however I have having trouble with = Nathan (Enhanced) - basically it does not download - just spin and even if it does, it does not end up showing in the system voice list. I have tried to delete this enhanced voice and re-download it however that does not help Q: Is this particular download broken or are you able to download it no problem? Q: Also I am curious where are these download invoices reside. Someone mentioned = System->Library–>Speech–>Voices ... But I do not see them there in Ventura. Does anyone know where they are? Thanks Dave

How do you get the Kindle Text-to-speech working for Ventura 13.4? Hi, I have been unable to get my Kindle's text-to-speech working on my new Mac. The Kindle version is 1.40.1 (65624), and my Mac runs on Ventura 13.4. When I click Tools -> Start Text-to-Speech, nothing happens. Any help is appreciated.

If it is an Apple application, there likely is an Edit menu : Speech menu item that allows you to start or stop speaking the content. It will use the default text-to-speech voice to read what is on the screen. That is the simplest to use.

Instead, if you want to write the selected text to an audio file, that is more involved but doable with more control over the voice, speaking rate, pitch, language, voice, and encoding (e.g. M4A, AIFF) format. I have an Apple Shortcut application that does this, but was written to accommodate Apple's Pages. That can be adapted.
