apple pencil usb c won’t connect to my ipad tenth generation

i recently bought a apple pencil usb c for my ipad tenth generation but no matter what i do to try and connect it the pair button will not pop up for the pencil. i don’t know if it is my charger that i’m using because it is not the original ipad usb c chord that came with the ipad

The USB-C cable will not fit into the Apple Pencil 1st gen adapter that came with the pencil My pencil 1 came with 2 adapters. The correct one to charge my pencil with the Ipad 10th gen (The shorter one) is to small to use with a C Cable. Help please

Can I use my charging adapter for first generation apple pencil to pair with the Ipad 10th generation? I received a charging adapter along with my first gen apple pencil and I do not own a USB C to lightning adapter. Can I use this charging adapter to pair it with my 10th gen ipad using the Lightning to USB C cable? (this method worked when I tried charging my apple pencil through other devices which have USB C but I want to know if it’ll work on the ipad 10th gen).

The tags appended to your post suggests that your iPad is running iPadOS 16. A USB-C Pencil requires an iPad to be updated to iPadOS 17.1 or later.
