Screen sharing best practices (pausing it / hiding windows)

Hi everyone,

I will run our company strategy meeting and share my screen for that, either by AirPlay to an Apple TV or by HDMI cable to the TV. I have two questions:

  1. Is it somehow possible to "pause / freeze" the current view so that I can e.g. take notes without everyone seeing the other window?
  2. If this is not possible by default, can you recommend a software for that?
  3. Other than freezing the screen, is there also a way to "hide" a window without using the extend monitor function, which is cumbersome as I would then need to switch between screens and cannot see on my MacBook screen what is shared.

Any ideas / hints are appreciated!

Thanks!

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 14.4
