How do I update the macOS on my 2017 iMac?

i have a 2017 imac and i tried to manually download big sur. after the download it wouldnt allow me to install it.

anyone had this problem and if so how did you round it.

macOS I have the macOS High Sierra 2011 and I am currently trying to update it. How do I go about this? I can't find macOS Big Sur available for me to download on the apple store. When I researched what to do that was the version of software that was said to support my iMac for updating. Please help! Any information is really appretiated.

Unable to update my iMac running macOS Big Sur 11.7.10 to macOS Sequoia I try to enable the automatic upgrades. But it just whirrs away until it stops with no satisfaction. Is there a reason this might be? [Re-Titled by Moderator] Original Title: 11.7.10 IMAC to Sequoia. My computer refuses.
