Adobe Audition will load them just fine, but then cannot play or save them.
VLC claims they are something calld MRL (?).
Nothing else seems to work.
(And I'm not going to use the 100 websites that offer to convert files while providing free malware.)

QuickTime Player is not able to open .snd files, saying they are "incompatible".
Ah! I found someone with an old (really old) PC who will convert for me.
