Why is my 2021 iMac storage taking up so much system data?
My iMac system data is taking up all the space, I cannot even update system upgrades. How do I reduce the size?

The easiest and smartest method is to get some external storage like an external HD or external SSD (www.macsales.com) and move large libraries to the external media. Don't worry, it easy to do and easy to access libraries. Typical user's largest libraries are their:
- Photo library(s)
- Music library(s)
- Movie library(s)
Apple provides some guidance on how to move your Photos library and the process is virtually the same for music and movie libraries. Please click Move your Photos library to save space on your Mac and follow the instructions.
The external media I would recommend is either

On the internal storage on your Mac leave that for system files and your apps.
