When installing Yosemite from boot up, server gives an error 403 forbidden when prompter to log in with Apple ID

It’s been a Whitley since i tinkered with Macs but decided to give it a try again when I got an old iMac dirt cheap.

It’s a bit slow but finally managers to boot into Reinstall OS X. Yosemite is chosen, would work for me.

I choose Reinstall OS X, Connect to Wi-Fi, and proceeds. But when i try to enter my Apple id, i get ”The server gave an error during download: 403 Forbidden”

I tried entering just ranson letters and still get the same error.

what is wrong here?

Is the Date/Time correct on your Mac?

Some possible clues...

Like many others, I ran into the dreaded “The recovery server could not be contacted” message when trying to do a restore of Mac OS High Sierra for a 2010 13 inch MBP that I was selling (yes I know it’s worth almost nothing, but someone wanted to buy it from me)…
