I have all my photos on y Mac. I have a portable storage device- seagate.i would like to move all pics now to removable disk. I would like to empty the seagate. how do I put all photos on the removable disk?
iMac 27″, macOS 10.15
Format the Seagate SSD as APFS case insensitive (or as MacOS Extended, GUID if it happens to be an old spinning HDD).
Copy the photos library to the Seagate with Finder. Option-launch Photos, select the Seagate library, and make it system library in Photos settings.
Start regular backups of the external disk's library with Carbon Copy Cloner or some other backup app to another external disk.
After everything works as expected, delete the library on the internal disk.
