Bad strange noise on MacBook pro late 11
Every time I start the Mac I hear this sound, I wonder if it's disk or what..?
Also happening after Mac wakes up from sleep

Well actually it works normally except for the noise and I've unmounted and tested and changed many times.. I suspect it could be an old HDD I put inside but I wanted to ask here as well. I've embedded a link to a video with the noise...https://youtu.be/JOzqnzLBLAQ
To my ear, that sounds like the DVD reader, if so equipped.
Is there any way to disable it or do I have to physically remove it?
are you sure it does not have a disc inside?
Full or empty, it will only make noises at startup, so you can think of it as an extension of the chime sound.
Yes I don't mind, just if with time it could damage something.. but I'm not using it often.
No disk inside anyway.
I'll refresh it a bit, new SSD, more ram and remove the DVD, see if it's the culprit
