Add clickable phone number on email signature

Hi there,

I would like to add my phone number as clickable link to my signature email on my Mac. From signature settings I can't do it. Did it for web link and email address but don't find the way to do it for my phone number.

I have also tried visa Pages, writing my phone number and, edit the display and the link to. But when I copy and paste to signature it doesn't add the link...

I was able to do it on my iPhone but not on my Mac.

Any suggestions ??

Thanks on advance

You can add or edit email signatures for Apple Mail in Mail Settings - Signature.

To include a clickable telephone number, first add the phone number to the signature, then select it and right click, Link -> Add Link, then use following URL:

tel://<your phone number>

to make phone number clickable.

One must also select Mail's Edit menu > Substitutions > Smart Links (off by default). The email recipient will have a single-clickable hyperlink that floats a notification panel on the right top screen (on a Mac) as shown below:

For a clickable phone number in an email signature, there is a different approach as described in this article for making an HTML signature in Apple Mail for macOS Sonoma. One cannot enter HTML in a Mail > Settings > Signature panel and a clickable phone number is a specialized HTML anchor:

<a href="tel:+1nnn-nnn-nnnn">+1 nnn-nnn-nnnn</a>
