iOS 17.4.1 iPhone 12 pro keeps locking me out whilst in my pocket. It also rejects what I know is the correct pincode. It may be related to the fact I'm on a business trip to a different time zone (iPhone settings are automatic for time zone). Help! I've been locked out for upto 1 hour.

Thanks for the link. It doesn't explain why the issue has only started since starting a business trip 2 days ago. Regular clothes, same phone case et.c
The key point is that the link doesn't tell me how to avoid the issue! I don't want to have to reset my phone.
