How to locate my iPhone?

My 8 year old lost his phone a couple days ago, we have searched for it everywhere and can’t seem to find it our phones off this month due to not having the money to pay our bill but I’ve tried searching the location on my find my app and it says no location found, I’m sure the phones dead, I just hope it’s somewhere in the house and not stolen
