Face id stopped working

Suddenly stopped working. Recently updated to 17.4.1, iPhone 13 max pro

does not allowing face id reset, keeps asking for entering passcode and after that message comes face not recognised.

any practical tips how to overcome this issue?

tries rebooting a couple of times without success
