When I query my 14 pro max with its serial number, it appears to have been purchased in 1978.
I bought a 14 pro max from another country and when I queried the serial number today, I saw that it was purchased in April 1978.

So from which country and from whom did you purchase this iPhone Pro Max. There are counterfeit iPhones all over the world.

Well, there is no problem if you are happy with the condition of the unit. But, the unit is not new. If it was purchased as new, the retailer was not honest.
This may indicate that the unit has been refurbished by a facility other than Apple, but approved by Apple. The model number may start with 3 or 5.
Where exactly did you query your iPhone to get this information?
Instead of querying Apple's own serial number
