LG External Monitor worked for 2 years and then quit!

I've been using an LG external monitor cabled to a Ventura-operated MacBook Pro for 2 years without issue. Immediately after canceling (online) my TV subscription with the local cable company here, that also provides the local internet service and using my Sling account to put something on the external monitor, the external monitor went grey.

If I do a reboot of the system, the external monitor will come back alive for a few minutes before going grey again. When I'm working, I will slide documents from the MacBook screen to the LG but now cannot do that.

I believe it could be one or more of so many things - a gone-bad firewire connection or cable, an LG monitor gone bad, a software issue with the MacBook Pro of even a cable company intent on punishing me -

I would appreciate some direction to go.
