Can I switch browsers easily from safari and to google, yahoo or others temporarily for apps that Safari doesn’t work on, the go back?

Go to Settings and choose the name of the browser, and there should be an option to set that browser as the Default Browser. You can change it to another one anytime you want. Search Engines are a different matter and for that, go to Settings > Safari > Search Engine, and you will have multiple options to use as a search engine for Safari. There is no Safari search engine.
