In the Apple Calendar app, notifications for past events don't show up. So, I miss them!

I'm trying to use Apple calendar, notifications for past events don't show up.

I have only notification fro events not started.

Any idea ?

I use hundreds of appts in calendar to remind me (I do not like the reminder apps), so if past events do not work, it's useless for me...
