Deleting new profile deleted all my existing tabs on primary profile!

Deleting new profile deleted all my tabs on my primary profile!

In Safari settings on my iPad I made a new profile just to check it out since I was considering using it for work, but removed it just afterwards. Now all my 130+ tabs on my regular, primary, profile are all gone! And they are nowhere to be found. I don’t understand at all. In Safari settings it says that a new profile will be separate, seperate cookies, history and website data. So how can it be that when I deleted a separate profile it is somehow still connected to my primary profile? Is this a bug or have I just misunderstood this?
