After updating, my apple watch face went black. I tried holding down the side button for 10 seconds but nothing happened. I can tell it is "on" though. I don't have Voice Over or a Screen Curtain, so I am not sure what to do. Thank you in advance for you help!

Have you tried and force restart it to see if the issues persist? Only do this when the watch is not updating anymore
Press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown until the screen turns black and the Apple logo reappears, then release both buttons

Thank you so much, I appreciate it! This is good to know in the future. Actually, for whatever reasons, my Apple Watch did spontaneously not appear black anymore. :-) I will try your solutions if I come across the same problem. Maybe my watch was still finishing updating and I didn't realize it (even though it did say completed).
