How To Ipad Files Map to Network Share - Simple Easy Method

Local network with an attached USB drive on a TP-LINK Router. USB Drive is mapped using \\172.20.10.35\G

or \\TP-SHARE\G when it is a Windows Client.

On my ipad Air using Ios 17 for the first time trying Files and want to map to this same share.

I tried the above syntax and it says URL is not valid. But does not show the syntax for connecting.

Tried //server/share and then \\server\share then \\server:share

Also tried names like TP-SHARE and also the IP address as the server, still no connection. All searches

led to some really good SMB solutions.

FYI - I do connect to Google Drive easily and have been saving files there, but really want to save to my local network. Any specific syntax ideas ?

Also - if you embed a link to a story , somewhere far away down a rabbit-hole, it will not be followed, clicked on or used. Sorry. This is an easy one , for the right person. Just give the answer. And thank you.
