My brother passed down his iphone 7 to me. At that time when he setup his iphone, he used an old iphone ID. Now he forgot what the password is and I cant do much with the mobile because I cant download/uninstall any apps. I obviously cant remove the iphone ID.
Is there anything I can do to remove the iphone ID, or use the iphone 7 without iphone ID so that I can use it?

After your brother uses the link provided by kb1951 to gain access to his account, then he will need to factory reset the phone so you can set it up as a new device with your Apple ID.

The receipt is definitely out of the question. Its been too long. Does that mean the only way the mobile is usable is only after the account is recovered? No other method, e.g. apps to help with the factory reset
