Syncing reminders to calendar

Is there a way to create a reminder and also have it sync to a date in my calendar? Am using % in Reminders/note area to search for appointments and using hashtags for labeling and setting locations but would love to make one entry and then later do a search on my Calendar, or interchanging the two. I feel like I am duplicating my efforts. Thanks
